Identification Analysis of Plant Parasites

By the constant demands of the agricultural, food and forestry related to various issues linked to plant pathology born Phy.Dia., laboratory accredited by the Lazio Region for the diagnosis of plant pests, such as fungi, bacteria, viruses, viroids, phytoplasmas, nematodes , insects and mites.

Phy.Dia. offers its customers a wide range of laboratory tests carried out using validated methods and technologies. The expertise is provided by qualified researchers with specializations ranging from Plant Pathology to Molecular Biology.

Our analysis can be used both for diagnostic purposes, in difficult situations from field to post-harvest, and as a certificate valid for the movement of plant material within the European Community.

 Some of the techniques used for pests detection and identification are:

Fungi: isolation on specific culture media; set up of wet rooms; microscopic analysis; molecular analysis (PCR); artificial inocula for the verification of pathogenicity.

Bacteria: isolation on specific culture media; characterization of isolated colonies; molecular analysis (PCR); artificial inocula for the verification of pathogenicity.

Virus: ELISA assays; molecular analysis (PCR); inoculation of indicator plants (bioassays).
